PROFESSIONAL FRENCH FOR THE EUROPEAN UNION (B1-B2) – PART I

Registration for this course will be open from 21 July to 1 September 2026.

This course is intended for candidates who already have an intermediate level of French and wish to consolidate it, expand their professional vocabulary and develop greater fluency when using the language in European Union-related contexts.

The course will be delivered online in small groups to encourage participation, progress monitoring and direct interaction with the instructor.

Registration for this course will take place through the Yepso! website between 21 July and 1 September 2026.

The course will be confirmed once the minimum number of participants has been reached.

Information

The programme is designed to consolidate the skills acquired at previous levels and to develop both general French and the language commonly used in European and institutional environments.

Throughout the course, participants will work on spoken communication, reading comprehension and specialist vocabulary related to professional activity within the European Union.

The course consists of 35 sessions of 1 hour and 30 minutes, delivered form 20 October 2026, with a total of 52.5 teaching hours.

The course is structured as two consecutive programmes, designed to support gradual and flexible progression throughout the academic year.

Participants who complete the first programme will be able to continue their training through the second programme, gradually consolidating their language skills in the European Union context.

The first programme will run from October 2026 to February 2027, while the second will run from February to June 2027.

Registration for this first course does not include or automatically enrol participants in the following programme.

Classes will take place on Tuesdays, from 18:30 to 20:00 Brussels time.

The timetable will be subject to breaks for Christmas, Easter and public holidays.

Instructor

Fátima Gómez Cáneba is a practising freelance translator and interpreter, as well as a lecturer in the Department of Translation and Interpreting at the University of Salamanca. She graduated in Translation and Interpreting —French, German and Italian— in 2020 and completed her doctorate with Cum Laude distinction in 2025.

Her professional work combines the training of future translators for international contexts with research into communication accessibility and professional practice in literary translation and marketing.
